How does PRO Betting Tips choose its Pro Picks?

PRO Betting Tips starts from its probability for every market in every upcoming match. A pick must have a probability of at least 50% and odds between 1.20 and 3.50, and is then ranked by its Kelly score. Picks scoring 0.08 or more make the list, which covers roughly 15-20% of upcoming matches, shown by kick-off time.

Where do the predictions come from?

PRO Betting Tips is an iOS and Android app made by MICOM TECH. It focuses on goals markets, both teams to score (BTTS) and Over/Under, plus match result and double chance.

Every upcoming football (soccer in the US) match in the app comes with predictions and a probability for each of those markets, supplied by a specialist football data provider. That probability is the starting point for Pro Picks. It is an estimate of how likely an outcome is, not a promise: a pick shown at 60% is expected, if the estimate is right, to lose about 4 times in 10, and any estimate can be wrong.

What does a pick need to qualify?

A pick passes three filters, in this order:

FilterRuleWhy it is there
ProbabilityAt least 50%The app’s estimate must favour the outcome happening
OddsBetween 1.20 and 3.50Leaves out very short prices with little return and long shots
Kelly scoreAt least 0.08The estimated chance must beat the price by a clear margin

Picks that pass all three make the list, which aims to cover roughly 15-20% of upcoming matches. If more qualify, only the highest Kelly scores are kept. On a quiet day, when fewer qualify than the minimum (at least 3 picks, or 15% of upcoming matches if that is more), the app fills the list with the next-best Kelly scores that still pass the probability and odds filters, so a few picks can sit below 0.08.

What is the Kelly score and how is it worked out?

The Kelly criterion compares a probability with the odds on offer. The app uses it in this form:

Kelly = (b × p − q) / b

  • b = decimal odds − 1
  • p = the app’s probability for the pick
  • q = 1 − p

Take a hypothetical pick with a probability of 55% at odds of 2.10. Then b = 1.10, p = 0.55 and q = 0.45, so Kelly = (1.10 × 0.55 − 0.45) / 1.10 = (0.605 − 0.45) / 1.10 = 0.1409. That is above 0.08, so the pick qualifies.

A positive Kelly value means the probability is higher than the price implies. Here the odds of 2.10 imply 1 / 2.10 = 47.6%, while the app’s estimate is 55%. For a fuller explanation of the formula, see what is the Kelly criterion.

Is the Kelly score a staking tip?

No. In PRO Betting Tips the Kelly score is used to filter and rank picks, not to tell you how much to bet. Kelly formulas are sometimes used to size stakes, but in the app the score combines the estimated probability and the decimal odds into the theoretical Kelly fraction, and PRO Betting Tips uses it only as a selection filter, not as a staking instruction. Any staking decisions are yours; our guide to bankroll management covers the basics.

How does the filter work on a set of matches?

Here are six hypothetical candidates. Implied probability is 1 / odds.

Candidate pickProbability (p)OddsImpliedKellyResult
Over 2.5 goals55%2.1047.6%0.1409Qualifies
BTTS Yes52%2.3043.5%0.1508Qualifies
Home win58%1.9551.3%0.1379Qualifies
Double chance home or draw72%1.4569.0%0.0978Qualifies
Over 1.5 goals62%1.7058.8%0.0771Fails: Kelly below 0.08
Away win48%2.4041.7%n/aFails: probability below 50%

Check one more: for the double chance pick, b = 0.45, so (0.45 × 0.72 − 0.28) / 0.45 = (0.324 − 0.28) / 0.45 = 0.0978.

Notice that a high probability alone is not enough. The Over 1.5 goals pick has a 62% probability, but at 1.70 the price already implies 58.8%, so its Kelly score is too small. Our guide to Over 1.5, 2.5 or 3.5 goals explains why price matters as much as the line.

How are the picks shown?

Once picks are chosen, the Pro Picks list shows them by kick-off time, so the next match to start is at the top. The ranking by Kelly score decides which picks make the list, not their order on screen. Each match screen shows:

  • The pick, for example BTTS Yes or Under 2.5 goals
  • Its probability from the app’s data
  • Its odds
  • An AI preview of the match

What is the daily brief?

The daily brief is a separate feature from the Pro Picks list. It picks out the strongest value angles of the day, ranked by confidence, price value and kick-off time.

How does the AI chat use the data?

The AI chat uses large language models from OpenAI and Google Gemini. They are given the app’s own match data, so answers about a match draw on the same predictions and probabilities shown on its match screen. Like any model output, the answers can be wrong and are worth checking against the match screen.

Can you see how past picks ended?

Yes. Past picks stay listed whether they won or lost, for up to 365 days with Premium. That is a useful reminder that a probability of 55% or 60% still means plenty of losses. Bets you place elsewhere are settled by your bookmaker under its own rules, which vary.

The app is free to download with an optional premium plan, for adults 18+. It is not a bookmaker and takes no bets.
